Dr Sonja Kästner, FEBOPRAS

Dr Sonja Kästner studied at the University of Cologne, the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) and the University of La Laguna (Spain). She completed her specialist training in Cologne-Merheim, one of the largest plastic surgery clinics in Germany, and at the Oceanclinic Marbella, an internationally renowned centre for plastic and aesthetic surgery.

Dr Kästner is the owner of the JugendLiebe plastic surgery practice in Cologne. In addition to this aesthetic area, an important focus is on surgical lipoedema treatment for the LIPOhelp Lipoedema Centre. Here, she places particular emphasis on the careful suction of the lipoedema while protecting the lymphatic channels and also on the subsequent so-called thermal skin tightening and laser lipolysis. Here, the skin is treated with a special laser device, the Leonardo laser, during the same surgical session to achieve scar-free skin tightening and thickening. In this way, an aesthetically pleasing result can be achieved even in more pronounced cases of lipoedema and after large-volume liposuction.

Dr Kästner has been a trainer for other doctors in the field of skin improvement for many years and is the author of various scientific publications.

Dr Kästner forms the Cologne team of LIPOhelp together with PD Dr Schiefer and Prof Dr Broer.
