Costs for lipoedema surgery & treatment

A healthy mind should live in a healthy body. This wisdom is as old as it is true. But health is also influenced by how you are seen from the outside. The general external appearance, but also self-perception and self-confidence therefore have a decisive influence on whether you feel comfortable in your own body.

Feeling good in your own body - priceless

The human body is much more than just a means to an end. It is the home of our mind and our consciousness. The appearance of our body has a significant influence on how we identify with it and whether we feel comfortable in it. Interestingly, however, according to a 2016 study, less than half of the general population are actually satisfied with their body. Click here for the study.

While most men are generally satisfied with their appearance, only 41 % women are. The classic problem areas of the stomach, legs and buttocks in particular are named by the women surveyed as anatomical areas with which they are dissatisfied.

This can be caused by general obesity, but also by a pathological disorder of the fat tissue cells in the form of lipoedema. This chronic and progressive disease of the fatty tissue usually begins on the lower extremities such as the hips or thighs.

In addition to the associated pain and increased sensitivity to touch in the affected areas of the body, affected patients also suffer from psychological stress as they no longer feel comfortable due to the visual changes to their body.

The cause of lipoedema is usually a change in hormonal processes in the body. Around 10 % of all women suffer from this pathological fat distribution disorder, while men are not affected. You can find out whether you are one of those affected with our self-test.

What does a treatment at LIPOhelp cost?

Just as the disease, its progression and the associated physical complaints can vary from patient to patient, it is not possible to make a generalised statement about the costs of an operation, as the surgical effort and therefore the duration and costs can vary. The comprehensive therapy and treatment depends not only on the type and stage of lipoedema, but also on the area of the body affected.

Several areas of the body can also be treated simultaneously during the operation. We will clarify which regions should be treated and the extent of the operation in a personal consultation with you. This ensures that you receive the optimum treatment for your findings and that this leads to the desired success.

You will receive a list of the expected treatment costs during your personal consultation. In addition to the actual medical treatment costs, this also includes the costs for the anaesthetic and the necessary follow-up treatment. This means that you know exactly what costs you can expect before the treatment begins.

What are the costs of lipoedema treatment?

Many people do not even consider plastic or aesthetic surgery on their own body due to the fear of very high costs. This is despite the fact that they want treatment so much to finally feel comfortable in their own body again. However, the costs of a surgical procedure are often much lower than expected.

In the individual sessions, the various individual treatment measures, such as manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy and suction of the affected fat cells, are ideally coordinated and adapted to each other.

Lipoedema surgery usually incurs costs for

  • for the OP as such
  • anaesthesia during the procedure
  • the follow-up treatment

You will be informed of the total amount during your individual initial consultation. The consultation fee for the initial consultation and examination of 35 to 60 euros (depending on location) can be offset against the total treatment costs if the procedure is carried out. Depending on the degree of severity and the body region treated, the total costs can range from around 2,500 to 6,500 euros.

To ensure that the desire for a harmoniously shaped and pain-free body does not fail due to a lack of financial resources, we will be happy to inform you about the possibilities of financing. In this way, you can maintain your personal financial leeway and still have the treatment you long for. You then simply pay the costs in clearly calculable monthly instalments.

Does health insurance pay for lipoedema treatment?

The health insurance company will only cover the treatment under clearly defined conditions: The decisive factors are a specialist diagnosis by a non-surgical specialist, at least six months of conservative treatment without sufficient success and complete documentation including stable weight and appropriate BMI values. Fixed limits apply in statutory health insurance, while private health insurance also depends on the individual tariff.
