Prof Dr med Jennifer Schiefer
Prof Dr Schiefer studied medicine at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn, the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the University of Zurich. She then completed her specialist training as a plastic surgeon in renowned clinics in Tübingen, Stuttgart and Cologne.
She is currently a senior consultant in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Burn Surgery at the Chair of Plastic Surgery at the University of Witten/Herdecke, Cologne City Clinics. In addition to the entire spectrum of plastic surgery, she specialises in the surgical treatment of lipoedema.
Prof Dr Schiefer's scientific work focuses on wound healing and scar formation with the aim of further improving aesthetic results after injuries and operations. She heads a working group on this topic at the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Witten/Herdecke and supervises junior medical staff who are studying this topic more intensively as part of their doctoral theses.
In addition to his clinical and scientific work, Prof Schiefer manages the LIPOhelp site in Cologne together with Prof Broer and Dr Kästner.
