Prof. Dr Niclas Broer, MHBA
Prof. Broer studied medicine at the Ludwig-Maximilian University and the Technical University of Munich and, after additionally passing all American state examinations (USMLE Step I, II & III), then completed the complete American 6-year combined residency in plastic surgery at Yale University Medical School, followed by a one-year specialised fellowship in microsurgery and aesthetic surgery in New York City at the Institute for Reconstructive Surgery (IPRS) of the NYU-Langone Medical Center of New York University. Dr Broer subsequently became one of the few plastic surgeons in Europe (www.abpls.org) to pass both the written and oral examinations of the US Medical Board of Examiners, making him an official specialist and Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPLS). Dr Broer has also passed the European and German specialist examinations.
He is currently also Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Burn Surgery at München Klinik Bogenhausen, an academic teaching hospital of the Technical University of Munich. Prof Broer is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the European Board of Plastic Surgery (FEBOPRAS), Associate Surgeon in low- and middle-income countries with Interplast Germany and a private lecturer at the Plastic Surgery Clinic of the Technical University of Munich.
