Prof Dr Paul Heidekrüger

After completing his medical studies at the Technical University of Munich and various stays abroad in the USA and Switzerland, Prof. Heidekrüger completed his specialist training in the renowned Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand and Burn Surgery at the Bogenhausen Academic Teaching Hospital of the Technical University of Munich, graduating as a German specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Prof Heidekrüger has also trained as a specialist in general medicine and works at our location in the general medical practice in the Au in Munich. Prof. Heidekrüger is also a lecturer at the Centre for Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at Regensburg University Hospital, where he continues his academic career with a focus on the aesthetic perception of body proportions in a socio-cultural context and reconstructive microsurgery. Together with Prof. Dr N. Broer, Mr Heidekrüger heads the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the EMCO Private Clinic in Bad Dürrnberg and concentrates his work on the surgical treatment of lipoedema.

As a founding member of the non-profit organisation „German Global Surgery Association“, his humanitarian work focuses, among other things, on surgical training and care in low- and middle-income countries, with a particular interest in reconstructive surgery. Prof Heidekrüger has also been a member of the non-profit organisation INTERPLAST Germany e.V. for over ten years and regularly accompanies humanitarian surgical missions to various developing countries to help people achieve a life worth living through plastic-reconstructive surgery.
